The United States and it's journey into the utterly ridiculous! or What happened to the intelligence of the American citizen to allow it? With the laws of the land (today), the convictions by most of the news media and the general intelligence (lack there of) of the populous today, do we dare get out of bed in the morning? With reference to children: (1) Spank them and you can be "convicted" of child abuse. (2) If not yours and you touch them in any way "congratulatory or not", as a teacher per say, you can be "convicted" of being a pervert. (3) Be assaulted by an overgrown 14 year old and protect yourself against this "criminal child", you can be "convicted" of child abuse, assault yourself or of not using good common sense (letting this out-of-control individual "beat you to death"). (4) If your child does not like being corrected or having rules to follow, they can sue you for a "divorce". Then put on the welfare roles for the American taxpayer to support. (Of course this goes for any irresponsible child who leaves home on their own, without a job. and files for welfare, AFDC and the like.) (5) As a police officer in the course of their duties, they bring in a "child" for being disorderly, or the like and the parents say that they and their child are being harassed. Of course, the parents had no idea where their child was or what they were doing. They were either too busy to know or just plain didn't want to bother themselves with the responsibility. With reference to Adults: (1) If you work for an individual, company or corporation and are not of the race of the management, you can sue for racial discrimination, if things just don't go your way. (2) If a female and things don't go your way, you can sue for sexual harassment or discrimination. (3) If in the military and expected to perform as an entity rather than a female, you can claim harassment or discrimination. (4) If assaulted on the street, you pull a gun and shoot this individual, you can be convicted of manslaughter, because you didn't let the law handle the situation. Of course they were clear across town or not available at that instant. Now if they shoot you, they will be housed, fed, clothed for a while and then let out with time served as being a "model" prisoner. Of course you're crippled for life and no concern of them or the legal system. (5) Own a restaurant and a patron "spills hot coffee in their lap", you can be sued for negligence for having, (Yes "having") a properly prepared product. (6) Manufacture a product and you have to be totally responsible for how it is used, whether proper or not. Unless, you have an unlimited amount of time and money to defend your self, the consumer is sure to win. (7) Be a landlord and not be able to collect due rent. Once again you are harassing and/or being unconcerned with your renters welfare. Of course your income from your business of renting is of no concern.
